This weekend I read 3 kids' chapter books that we have just received in the library. The first is The Strange Case of Origami Yoda by Tom Angleberger. Someone in my final library class mentioned as a great boys' book author. I think his works will appeal to upper grades boys and girls. The question is... Does the origami finger puppet REALLY predict the future???
Next, Horton Halfpott or the Fiendish Mystery of Smugwick Manor or the Loosening of M'Lady Luggertuck's Corset, also by Tom Angleberger. There is a mystery in this manor. Readers will want to know if Horton Halfpott is really a quiet hardworking kitchen boy, or is he a fiendish thief??
Finally, I was able to read A Thief in the Theater, an American Girl Mystery by Sarah Masters Buckey. Kit, who wants to be a reporter, spends a whole week volunteering in a theater. She and her friend Stirling discover drama that has nothing to do with Shakespeare's plays!
I need 5 minutes to process these books on Monday and they will be out for reading!
